Figures released today (13 October) reveal that the pressure of trying to achieve an unrealistic ‘ideal body’ is trapping millions of people in the UK in an unhealthy cycle of depression, short-term dieting, cosmetic intervention and eating disorders.
October 01, 2014: Dove is delighted to be supporting ‘100 Leading Ladies’, a photographic exhibition being held at London’s Somerset House from 2nd to 26th October 2014. The exhibition celebrates the achievements of senior women drawn from many different walks of life that provide inspiring role models for young girls. To celebrate the exhibition, Dove will host an evening event on the 6th October, where inspirational women, including those pioneering the work of the Dove Self Esteem Project*, will share their stories.

Unilever has today announced that it will open a new £24 million Advanced Manufacturing Centre in 2016 at its Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight. The new 6500m2 Advanced Manufacturing Centre will be approximately the size of a football pitch and will be unique within Unilever globally. The Centre will house a state-of-the-art pilot plant, which will allow scientists and engineers to test new ideas during new product development up to factory scale for personal care and homecare products.
This September, young people from across the UK will have the opportunity to gain the skills they need to get into work when they visit Unilever offices, factories and R&D sites in London, Kingston, Leeds, Leatherhead (Surrey), Port Sunlight (Wirral), Trafford Park (Greater Manchester) and Crumlin (south Wales).
This September, Unilever is proudly supporting the Pledge 4 Plastics campaign, a government backed national initiative, which aims to get recycling back on the household agenda. The initiative is in response to challenging recycling targets set by UK Government for the packaging industry to double recycling levels in the next five years.
