In the UK & Ireland, we’re proud to work with Blind in Business, a charity focused on building confidence in blind and visually impaired young people. Together, our partnership mission is to see a society where everyone is treated equally, working to create a fairer, more socially inclusive world.
We’re proudly supporting the great work they do to help blind and sight-impaired young students, school leavers, graduates, and undergraduates into work.
Unilever is committed to creating a culture of inclusion for people with disabilities. We’ve set ourselves the global target of having 5% of our workforce represented by disabled people by 2025. As well as this, we have the target to make all our sites around the world accessible by 2025. We want to be the employer of choice for disabled people.
Recently, working together with Blind in Business, we hosted work experience for two students at our UK headquarters in Leatherhead. The students shadowed different teams, attended sessions on wellbeing in the workplace, and networked with employees from different functions and developed employability skills (such as advice for interviews, job applications and writing CVs).
We hope to continue to work with Blind in Business and host more work experience students soon. Through working with partners such as Blind in Business, we hope to build our knowledge and capability, amplify our programmes, and reach more people as an employer.
I'm delighted to have had the opportunity to partner with Blind in Business whilst giving wonderful placement students an insight into the Unilever working culture and environment.

This was a great experience to invite students in to see more of Unilever and what it is like to work in a corporate setting.
