MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

Our exciting 5-year programme will allow you to become a Multi-Skilled Engineer engaged to optimize the running and maintenance of state of the art equipment within the factory. Where breakdowns occur, you will diagnose and troubleshoot faults and where necessary recommend design improvements.

This apprenticeship leads to BTEC Lev 3 Diploma in Engineering; NVQ Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance, NVQ level 4 Diploma in Engineering Manufacture, HNC General Engineering.

Our programme is externally accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology [IET].

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:

Our up-and-coming apprentices follow 5-year Development Road Map which incorporates the National Apprenticeship Standard as well as the Unilever specific technology modules and personal development programme. You will gain engineering skills and get experience in a range of different Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control technologies. A unique apprenticeship programme designed to support you in becoming the next top engineer.

You'll spend the first year as a full-time student at one of our selected college providers. For the next three years, our programme requires college block release, in-house and external training courses.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

The Manufacturing Apprenticeship is ideal for everyone who enjoys working with their hands and has a real interest in manufacturing.

As a Technical Operator you’ll learn how to make world-famous products using our machinery. The Technical Operator makes sure that their machines are working at full capacity, are stocked with needed materials and well-maintained. They are required to perform repairs and drive continuous improvement.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:

Our exciting Manufacturing Apprenticeship lasts two years and incorporates the National Apprenticeship Standard as well as Unilever specific technology modules and personal development programmes.

You'll spend two years being trained by our experts on how to operate within a production environment. You’ll also learn about areas such as quality, safety, health and environment, innovation and sustainability. You will develop manufacturing skills and gain world class experience in a range of different technologies.

On completion of your apprenticeship you will attain: Level 2 NVQ Engineering Maintenance and Level 3 Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

As the manufacturers of some of the world’s best loved deodorant brands, Quality is very much at the heart of what we do. Working as part of the Quality Team you will learn how we ensure that each product leaves our factory in perfect condition, to meet our consumers’ high expectations. You will be involved in real projects from day 1.

There are many different elements to Quality and every working day is different – for example, you could be testing and measuring materials, working with others to improve Quality standards in the factory, or supporting the development of new products. You will be part of a wider team and you will work closely with our factory team, our material suppliers and Research & Development Centre.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:

Our Apprenticeship in Quality lasts two years and follows the National Apprenticeship Standard – Level 3 Improvement Technician Standard as well as Unilever specific technology modules and personal development programmes.

The programme incorporates on-the-job training in the following areas: Process Quality, Innovation Quality Operational & Supplier Quality and Hygiene. You will study simultaneously, matching your formal academic learning to the operational experiences you are having day-to-day.

Completion of the programme will ensure you have the knowledge and skills to work effectively as part of a world class team in a range of Supply Chain roles. Additionally, you will obtain the auditing qualifications.

Upon completion you will have achieved the Level 3 Diploma in Business Improvement Techniques, alongside industry recognised training - ISO 9001.

The programme incorporates on-the-job training in the following areas: innovation planning, dispatch planning, material planning and customer service & inventory. You will study simultaneously, matching your formal academic learning to the operational experiences you are having day-to-day.

Completion of the programme will ensure you have the knowledge and skills to work effectively as part of a world class team in a range of Supply Chain roles. You will obtain the following qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Supply Chain Management; the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) - known as the premier certification for internal supply chain business operations.

Level 3 Logistics Operations Apprenticeship programme

LOGISTICS OPERATIONS APPRENTICESHIP:

If you’re looking to develop an exciting career in warehousing and logistics this apprenticeship is for you!

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

You will be based in our highly automated warehouse getting involved in receiving materials, dispatching stock and managing our IT systems and state of the art robots. During your apprenticeship you will complete externally accredited Fork Lift Truck operator training course that will give you the skills to operate a variety of trucks safely and efficiently.

The use of our IT systems is a critical part of the day-to-day job, and you will learn how to use these systems to an advanced level, how to monitor the output and quality of the warehouse and associated areas and take appropriate action to ensure standards are achieved.

You will be working closely with other departments on site such as: Safety, Production, Planning & Engineering and will learn the underpinning theories of supply chain and logistical planning as well as experience project work within your team.

You will develop skills to lead, influence and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:

Our Apprenticeship in Logistics Operations lasts two and a half years and follows the National Apprenticeship Standard as well as Unilever specific technology modules and personal development programmes.

Completion of the programme will ensure you have the knowledge and skills to work effectively as part of a world class team in a range of warehousing & logistics roles. You will obtain the RTITB Counterbalance Lift Truck (often referred to as a forklift) Licence.
