Business Administration Advanced Apprenticeship

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

Unilever Business Administration apprentices provide administrative support to our UK or Global teams working in a variety of departments including Brand Building (Marketing), Customer Development (Sales), Supply Chain, Human Resources, Communications and Finance.

As an apprentice, you’ll receive on-the-job training and experience in an entry level administrative position along with formal training to gain the knowledge and skills you’ll need to support our business operations. You’ll join a specific team and will have a dedicated line manager committed to enhancing your career experiences. You’ll be given opportunities to develop the skills aligned to your role and responsibilities to enable you to take control of your career.

WHERE ARE THEY BASED?

Locations could include Kingston, Leatherhead (Surrey), Port Sunlight (Wirral) and London (Blackfriars).

WHO FITS THE BILL?

We look for apprentices who….

  • Have at least five GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above that include English Language and Maths
  • Can work as part of a team, so excellent communication skills and teamwork are essential, as are an ability to organise a varied workload
  • Contribute their ideas and think for themselves
  • Are up for a challenge, can use their own initiative to solve problems, and can demonstrate good attention to detail
  • You must also be eligible to work in the UK

QUALIFICATION ACHIEVED

  • Level 3 Combined Diploma in Business Administration

IT Advanced Apprenticeship

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

Unilever IT apprentices support our IT teams across the UK who develop and deliver our business technology software, systems, equipment and services as well as providing real time technical support and guidance to people all across our diverse organisation.

As an apprentice, you’ll receive on-the-job training and experience along with formal training to gain the knowledge and skills you’ll need to support our business. Typical roles could include Helpdesk Support Technician or other IT Technical Support, IT Analyst, Software Developer or Web Developer.

You’ll join a specific team and will have a dedicated line manager committed to enhancing your career experiences. You’ll be given opportunities to develop the skills aligned to your role and responsibilities to enable you to take control of your career.

IT Higher Apprenticeship

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

The Higher IT Apprenticeship goes a little further than the Advanced programme to develop the skills required to work at the IT Engineer level of the business - IT Project Managers, Engineers or, in some cases, towards Senior Engineers. Over time, Higher Apprentices will work with almost full independence and will be expected to manage their own workload and personal development with a minimum of supervision.

Locations could include Kingston, Leatherhead (Surrey), London (Blackfriars), Port Sunlight (Wirral).

WHO FITS THE BILL?

  • Foundation degree in Computing and IT Practice, or Level 4 Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles (HNC)

Project Management Higher Apprenticeship

Unilever Project Management Apprenticeship is designed specifically for individuals wishing to undertake a career as a project professional. Our apprentices support our UK and Global teams working in a variety of departments including Brand Building (Marketing), Customer Development (Sales), Supply Chain, Human Resources, Communications and Finance.

As an apprentice, you’ll receive on-the-job experience along with formal training to gain the knowledge and skills you’ll need to support our business. The qualification covers principles of project management, practice of project management, and leadership and delegation. Typical roles include Project Co-ordinator, Project Executive or Project Support Officer.

WHERE ARE THEY BASED?

Port Sunlight (Wirral), London (Blackfriars), Kingston and Leatherhead (Surrey)

We look for apprentices who….

  • Have at least five GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above that include English Language, Maths

  • Three years of industry work experience at three of the participating companies
  • A strong CV full of invaluable work experience by spending 12 months with your Home Company, 8 months at a second company, 8 months at a third company and a final 8 months back with your Home Company
  • Confidence - throughout your programme you’ll have access to a company mentor and an academic personal tutor who will support you throughout, so you’ll grow in confidence and develop your skillset
  • During your three year apprenticeship you will study one day a week at Pearson Business School for a degree in Business Management which will be validated by the University of Kent.

  • Are well organised and have the ability to prioritise your own workload
  • Have a high level of general commercial awareness

APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • Stage 1 – Complete an online application form
  • Stage 2 – Attend a Business Workshop at Pearson Business School in London
  • Stage 3 – Attend a Company Assessment Day
  • Stage 4 - Final assessment and interview with Companies
