Snack attack
Some people, in an effort to avoid what they perceive to be a guilty indulgence, try to be good by choosing so-called healthier foods, such as a cereal bar. But while that cereal bar may seem less indulgent than ice cream, is it really any better for you?
Check the fat content and you may be surprised to see that the cereal bar can contain 10% fat, while a Solero ice cream has a much lower 3% fat. As well as having less of the bad stuff than you might expect, Solero also has lots of the good stuff, such as real fruit. To top it all, each ice cream contains around 100 calories.
And have you heard of Frusì? This delicious frozen yoghurt with fruit and cereal contains 110 calories and 3g of fat in each pot.
Colour up
Fats are only the start. Lots of sweet foods are notorious for their inclusion of artificial colours and preservatives but Unilever is working to eliminate these from its ice cream brands around the world. Already all the colours used in the classic and children's ranges – even the bright greens, yellows and oranges – are completely natural.
And the good stuff? Kids love the taste of Moo ice cream, which has the same amount of calcium as a glass of milk in each serving.
Goodbye to guilt
So when you next feel like a treat – whatever the occasion – turn up the feel-good factor: say goodbye to guilt and enjoy an ice cream.
