Apprenticeships

Our four-year apprenticeship programme offers a unique insight into one of Europe's largest plants, getting you to grips with the equipment we use to make some of the world’s most famous brands.

Unilever now offer advanced apprenticeship frameworks in the following areas:

• Manufacturing/Engineering
• Logistics
• Research and Development Design (Science)

The sky is the limit

With your ideas, energy and enthusiasm, you'll have a real influence on future product design, factory performance, productivity and customer service.. And not in two years' time, either, but from the first week you get here.

For the Logistics and R&D Design apprenticeships, recruitment will focus on people with minimum A Level standard qualifications or equivalent (e.g BTEC National Certificate).  However qualifications to GCSE pass standard in Maths, English and Science are mandatory for all roles.

These development programmes will have a blend of studying academic learning modules within a college environment as well as developing technical/occupational skills through 'on-the-job' training.
At the end of it all, you'll emerge with a BTEC Higher National Certificates or equivalent in the relevant occupational area, as well as Level 3 NVQ.

For those with the ability, you could also achieve higher levels of qualifications ie Professional Certification, Foundation Degree  up to  B.Sc. Degree level (R&D roles specifically).

A varied career

This is the chance to embark on a career within a global corporation, where development opportunities and work placements are available not just locally, but on a national and international basis, too. Within the UK, even during the 3 or 4-year apprenticeship, there will be the opportunity for rotating placements within the various product range environments – from ice creams, spreads, sauces and beverages to home and personal care goods.

Such variety is the hallmark of our apprenticeship schemes, which allows access in the Manufacturing/Engineering apprenticeships to project and installation opportunities, as well as advanced engineering and product technologies - including automated high-speed production lines, robotics and pneumatics.
