Unilever Future Leaders Programme

The Application form

The first thing you must do is complete an online application form. It’s quite long but it allows you to present a complete picture of your talents, interests and ambitions.

Take your time and make sure you answer all of the questions. We need evidence that you possess the competencies we’re looking for. So focus on what you as an individual have achieved, not just what happened when you were part of a group.

Submit your application as per the instructions on the form and make sure you do so before the closing date. In order to be fair to everybody, applications received after the closing date will not be considered. Your form will be evaluated by a trained assessor, not a computer and if successful, you will go onto the next stage of the recruitment process.

The Psychometric assessment

All candidates are required to complete an online psychometric assessment as part of the recruitment process.

The Telephone interview

The next stage of the recruitment process is a telephone interview. This will cover general questions and competency based questions.

The Selection Day

This is the final stage of the recruitment process, which is held in Leatherhead, Surrey. This assessment day consists of a variety of exercises including:

  • a work simulation or in-tray exercise

  • group discussions

  • individual competency based interview

  • presentation exercise

Some of these exercises are designed around a business case study, enabling us to assess your potential while giving you an insight into what it’s like to work in a Unilever company.

The case study focuses on business issues - but you don’t need in-depth business knowledge to tackle it. Instead you should use your ability to think logically and laterally, your life experiences and your interpersonal skills.

Offer

We will let you know the outcome of the selection day within 24 hours and also give you feedback on how you did during the day. If successful, you’ll be offered a position in one of our operating companies. We try to take personal preferences into account when selecting a position for you, but you must be prepared work in any of our UK operations during your first two years. For placements, we will offer you a position at a particular Unilever location where you will be based for the duration of your placement.
