Firm up to stay looking young
If you’re worried that your face isn’t as firm and fresh as it used to be, then you don’t have to just grin and bear it. Following these simple facial exercises can ease those lines, reduce puffiness and tighten up sags.
Toning up
Just as playing sports or working out in the gym help to keep your body fit and toned, facial exercises are a great way of keeping you looking young and healthy.
The perfect time to do this is during regular cleansing and moisturising. Facial massage on top of a good cleansing and moisturising routine will firm up skin, leaving it soft, smooth and looking great.
Gentle massage
Putting pressure on any part of your body increases the blood flow to that area, and your face responds particularly well as it's packed with small, sensitive muscles. The gentle pressure of a facial massage can loosen up the muscles and allows them to learn to slide back into place more easily after being tensed.
The Chinese were using massage to improve health and well-being as long as 5 000 years ago, and the benefits of it are as real today as they were back then. With repeated massage, your face will be left looking relaxed and younger, while the increased circulation will give you a glowing, toned complexion.
Tap to stay tip-top!
The tapping method is a great way of exercising and massaging the skin, as it helps the lymphatic nodes eliminate toxins and drain away any congested areas.
Remembering to use the soft pads of your fingertips, start by tapping quickly and lightly under the chin, alternating with the backs of your hands, working along the chin and jaw line. Continue along your jaw line, towards your ears, up your face and around your mouth. Next, tap along your eyebrows and onto the cheekbones – but don’t tap around the eyes, as the skin there is too delicate – then move back towards the ears with anti-clockwise movements.
Doing this regularly alongside your favourite Ponds cleanser and moisturiser will ensure help keep your skin looking toned – and feeling great!
